On November 11, 1986, at the Las Vegas Hilton in Paradise, Nevada, WBC heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick, the WBC heavyweight champion from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, by way of Port Antonio, Jamaica, defended the title he won eight months earlier against heavyweight contender Mike Tyson. Thirty-two-year-old Berbick was 31-4-1 coming in. Twenty-year-old Tyson was 27-0 and a 3-to-1 favorite. Much was expected from the heavy-handed bomber from Brooklyn, New York, and much was delivered.
